His tone wasn’t that of a particularly cold one anymore, although the reason was still unclear to the Arrancar. He sheathed his sword upon his waist as he had spoken, a slight cold breeze licking his topless body. His white hair shone under the silver gaze of the moon with his belt making small clattering noises with the wind. He gazed down at the Human, almost with a faint smile’s illusion as he kindly asked... So, Asuka. Would you be so kind to allow me to see your “powers”? He did not know how she was to respond, but he did not care. He was already starting to get bored... Considering how they just met before the interruption, he sure wanted to delve into a wealth of knowledge regarding her. Almost as if he was obsessed with information. Oddly enough he didn't speak in his usual cold tone. In fact, he asked something else quite nicely. "So, Asuka. Would you be so kind to allow me to see your 'powers'?" Honestly at this point she's not sure what to make of this mysterious man. At this point only having met him probably [not even] half an hour, they have became acquaintances through a fight. Strange how this world works sometimes. Right, anyway, so he wanted to know about her powers. There was a period of silence as she was thinking whether she should show it to him. She came up with her answer. "Very well." She will indulge his desire for understanding. She's already demonstrated two of them, one quite visibly to him. That was Disperse, her 'transformation' ability that enables her to scatter into a hundred birds. The other was Blood Thirst, augmenting whatever weapon she has, preferably anything sharp, to make it sharper. That was already shown as the thin layer of red reiatsu was surrounding the sword when she handed it back to him. Unimpressively and most depressingly, that's already half of her known kidou abilities. May as well show off the other half. She turned and walked away from Shion to find a shadow. The shadow had to be dark enough of use, it can’t be a light shade, but it didn’t have to be pitch black. There was a nearby shade casted on a tree right by the pavement and another one next to it. This was the ideal area to show off her power Shadow Soul. She walked to the tree and placed her hand on the trunk. Like most trees, she felt a rigid bark texture. ”This is a fine tree, isn’t it?” She said softly. There is something physical in front of her. That is undeniable. However... she gently pushed her hand forward. Her hand went through the the physical barrier and into the shadow. From inside the shadow felt empty. It was a portal, after all. She stuck her head into the tree and walked right into the shadow, reemerging from the shadow on the next trunk. ”When I’m not fighting, I can walk through shadows to reappear elsewhere in proximity. I call it Shadow Soul.” Asuka stated while she walked back to Shion. Her eyes were closed, getting right away to use her Killer Intent. When she opened her eyes her pupils had changed into a strange sigil. ”This is my eye technique, Killer Intent. It impairs mobility on direct eye contact and I become more agile with it.” It was something she rarely used unless she really needed to in a fight, it was basically her ‘serious mode’ for fighting. Sometimes she would use it to frighten people who annoy her with a quick glance to instill fear. ”The moment I open my eyes, anyone’s eyes looking at mine will normally feel a moment of fear or paralysis. Of course, this shouldn’t work on someone who has more reiatsu and is stronger, like yourself.” She quickly shifted her eyes away from Shion for a second, slightly embarrassed for the lack thereof variety. ”... That is all I know. You’ve already seen the other two. Why was this particular Human was to meet with this particular Arrancar? ... ...does it matter? ... Shion watched the girl come up with an answer to his humble request; hope in his eyes. ”Very Well.” Shion would be absolutely overjoyed and went around like “REALLY!?” if he was the regular type... but he certainly wasn’t. Shion watched with deep curiosity in his ice-blue eyes as Asuka laid her hand upon the tree trunk darkened with its own shadow. “This is a fine tree, isn’t it?” ... ...huh? What did she mean? Maybe she was going to do something to the tree as it seemed to be the most rational course of possible action-- ... ...the Hell? Her hand... slipped INSIDE the tree. After that, her entire body was able to pass through as if it was some kind of a portal... “Garganta?” No... It definitely wasn’t a Garganta. ... Asuka walked “into” the tree and appeared from another... Shion watching silently with surprised eyes. “When I’m not fighting, I can walk through shadows to reappear elsewhere in proximity. I call it Shadow Soul.” Oh? Shadows, huh? A most interesting ability... but not very useful in combat it had seemed. He watched her walk up to him with her eyes closed, but Shion stood calm although it could mean something... most unexpected. However, nothing happened as she got much close to the cold Arrancar, a most courageous move... “This is my eye technique, Killer Intent. However, it seemed to have come to an end already... “...that is all I know. You’ve already seen the other two. It was a good fact that Shion really was that knowledgeable... He noticed the girl had been embarassed for... Well, considering her personality, it was probably because she wanted more power, but didn’t have it. “Humans...” He closed his eyes for a brief moment as he spoke: You said... improvise. So, you basically created a technique, just like I did, no? He paused for a moment and... So... You CAN create as many techniques as you like? But... it couldn’t possibly mean... Infinite... Shion’s eyes widened. His vision changed and became darker, the background becoming pitch black and Asuka standing as a gray figure with shiny red hair and crimson eyes in the midst of oblivion. She seemed to be... “God created Humanity of his own reflection...” Infinite power... Shion shut his eyes and... ... He smiled. A grin formed upon his face and his eyes flashed open, blue light emerging from his pupils with the effect of his reiatsu. He simply smiled for a few seconds and then... his expression broke down and his flaring reiatsu subsided. You are... amazing, Asuka. It should come across strange and bewildering that she did, in fact yes, create a new ability on the spot, despite how simple it was. Though she should be the one more surprised to know he created his healing technique just now. She had thought it was something he knew in his arsenal of abilities. "So... You CAN create as many techniques as you like?" Before she could respond to his preposterous question, Shion was minding his business, sinking himself into his own little insane fantasies. "Infinite..." He definitely wasn't the most sane of people she's met so far in her life. Like a mad scientist who made a new great discovery, his eyes widened in the glory that was... uh, herself. Quite a strange turn of events, though its starting to become a standard having unexpected and crazy encounters by now. He smiled and grinned, almost somewhat creepily obsessed about her. "You are... amazing, Asuka." A compliment. She hasn't gotten a genuine one in a long while... Despite how tough she may appear on the outside, she wasn't prepared for his comment, especially from someone like him. She blushed slightly, her eyes shied away from his once more. Quickly she regained her composure to look at him straight in the eyes. No. None of this nonsense, she thought to herself. Where ever he got that impression that she was brilliant is surely misled. She was back to her serious and cynical self. "No. Don't be ridiculous. Infinity is impossible, you should know this well as an Arrancar." Seriously, it doesn't take rocket science to figure this one out. Just logic and common sense, assuming you're the rational type. Though to be fair, perhaps he just isn't rational. And there are things that hint towards that, at least to her eyes. "Nothing can ever be infinite. There will always be a ceiling that we hit." At least, to the knowledge of modern science. The spiritual world probably already broke several rules of science. "What I did is a simple matter of solidifying reiatsu to become a weapon. Its nothing nearly as delicate or sophisticated as reattaching an arm back, like the healing technique you used." The Human... Mortalis... ...no. Asuka. She was right... ... ...not. ... Shion was having the most fun he had since the times back when there was Eli. This girl... Asuka was the most intriguing subject he had ever met (far surpassing Mika in the rankings) as she held infinite possibilities... but did not know. You’re wrong, Asuka. She indeed was. She was obviously trying to think rationally to keep herself sane... as mankind cannot comprehend infinite and might go mad. However, her basic survival instinct had made her skip a certain much obvious fact in the very nature of a Homo Sapiens... The Lust for Knowledge. The number of people who accepts this fact and dedicates their lives to pathetically satisfy their infinite hunger is quite little - as known to many. Most people live without realizing the fact that they can achieve infinite levels of knowledge as their lust can never be satisfied. However, massive amounts of knowledge taxes the brain heavily, so the human mind had subconsciously set up certain barriers to block the excessive intake of knowledge and free the mind of such strain. Only the most intelligent and powerful could achieve the level of “Infinite”... ...and that’s what Shion believed. He knew that Asuka had such potential as her limits as a normal human have already been torn down with the great amount of reiryoku in her body, so that was the reason why he had made such a bold and courageous statement. With proper “experimenting”, Asuka could easily surpass the power that of an Espada’s... You underestimate yourself. Your power is far too greater than you know. It is only limited by your imagination... Of course, this did not mean that she could instantly possess enough power to destroy Hueco Mundo at once... but Shion saw no reason why it shouldn’t be that way with the proper training. You indeed possess a human body... but you also possess the human mind. You have an insatiable hunger for the new... infinite possibilities. She still would be having trouble comprehending his words... so he thought that an example would be in order. For example, you can create a technique which duplicates your cells to repair damaged parts of your body, as I did... but I can never have an ability which would allow me to travel in shadows. Such a “quantic” and strange ability is not available to an Arrancar, Asuka... Another small grin appeared upon Shion’s face... ...your humanity is both your greatest limit and your greatest power, Asuka. Then... an idea... I can give you that power, Asuka. I can guide you along on the path which leads to a purpose... power, Asuka. You can become the sole conqueror of all worlds if you desire, Asuka. All you have to do is to follow me... His main plot is currently trying to seal Mika's powers to avoid them killing her... and Asuka might be a nice addition. You know... as a new character. Shion simply smashed her logic with his insane 'innate' theories. It all seemed like an alien concept to him, much like how his ideas are alien to her. Though he wasn't completely oblivious as to how humans think. The problem was, it was hard believing such radical ideas spewing from his mouth. How the bloody hell can he know she possessed special powers? Ones that are supposedly 'infinite'? To perhaps a narrow minded person such as herself, it was confusing and baffling to accept. She was taken aback by his explanation that she could regenerate and duplicate cells like him. It felt a little bit sickening thinking about that. She was never really into biology. Apparently her ability to travel through shadows was a unique one, at least unique enough that he cannot replicate himself. He offered her guidance. Guidance to greater power and possibly knowledge. There was a lot of unanswered things in this world she wanted to know about. And quite frankly, she didn't know where to start. But there was a lingering feeling of discomfort about Shion. What he said might have just been too much for her to accept. But what if he was right? Or he was partially right? His answer does have some merit. There is no definite answer. Human defined rules is not absolute, it is not always right. In the past humans thought the world was flat. We all now know that isn't true, because its bloody round. She closed her eyes to think it through in silence and took a deep breath. With a leap of faith, she uttered her answer. "Very well. I will follow you. For a period of time." Asuka eyes opened and faced his blue hues with her own serious hues. "If what I discover from you is worth my time, I may continue to follow you." It was indeed the correct answer to give as Shion did not know what would his next move have been if she had said “no”... but none of that mattered. Shion had acquired another partner... ... From now on and out, Shion would continue surviving through this entire madness called “AfterLife”... but he wasn’t alone anymore. There were others to use as both humanshields and extra firepower; not even mentioning Asuka’s potential in surpassing Shion’s power in short amounts of time, making everything worth his decisions. Very well, Asuka. Let’s get going, then. he spoke in a rather soft tone as he started walking towards the exit gate of the park, heading back to the Seo House located not so far from Karakura. It would be a long walk from the streets of Karakura by foot, Shion being completely invisible and Asuka seeming to be the only human out on the empty streets if she kept following him. The entire journey would take no more than 1-2 hours of walking or Asuka could merely cling onto Shion and he would use Sonido to reach there in a matter of minutes. It was all up to the Mortalis. Then, they would walk together. Shion leading the way and walking into the night, his presence disappearing from the vicinity in seconds. He trusted Asuka that she would follow him close by, but was also prepared for if she did not.
